I've always had a crush on Brandon Flowers. He's stylish, intelligent, charming and talented. I love how he always manages to pull off a quirky statement piece in his look, both onstage and off. It doesn't hurt that The Killers have been one of my favorite bands since early high school.
Perhaps I'm a bit biased. After all, how many times are The Killers referenced in a glossy or used on a designer's soundtrack for their show during Fashion Week?

I couldn't help but post this video. "Human" is a bit bizarre but the band looks so charming in their crazy outfits. And Flowers' pseudo-tuxedo ensemble made me smile. The first time I watched one of their videos, I found myself asking, "Why are these guys dressed like wackjobs?"
Music videos are about exhibition, the show and the spectacle. And that is how, like film, music entwines with fashion.
Fashion amuses. It entertains us. It ignites our imaginations, allows for rampant dreaming and sets us in a trance. Simply stated, music makes the world a better place and offers an escape. Fashion + music = made for each other. It's a healthy indulgence, and one we should utilize when we're feeling overwhelmed.
Music is art. Music videos are art. Fashion is art. Art imitates life. Don't waste your time searching for a rationale. It's here for us to enjoy.
